Tips and Instructions

You have purchased the NOTEBOOK PACKET.
How do you use it?

Getting started:    (If your packet does not include the CD, start with the Notebook.  See below.)

For the The Packet with Power Point CD:    This is not a DVD.  It must be viewed on a computer.  When the disk is opened there are three options.  The center icon with the colored circle is the video of the Power Point.  It is recommended to start with the video.  This does not require control of the slides with the mouse.  The video will run by itself.  The images are a little fuzzy but this moves through the Power Point presentation smoothly.  While viewing this, you can fill in the Intro/Test sheet that is in the back of the Notebook.   The video can be paused, reversed and fast forwarded easily.  This presentation takes about one hour to take you through the Bible.

Once you have gone through the Presentation, you will "get the picture."  You will have an understanding of how the Bible fits together and will see the picture of God's Plan.

Follow the remaining instructions to use the written materials.

G
etting started with the Notebook:

Read Section I to understand the purpose and direction of Get the Picture?   These pages also introduce the Frame for the Puzzle.  In Section II there is a model of the MAP OF THE BIBLE chart to be used for reference.  Also there are directions for how to assemble the Cut-and-Paste MAP OF THE BIBLE and the BOOKS OF THE BIBLE charts.  Continue to follow the directions throughout the NOTEBOOK to complete both charts.

It is recommended that these charts are completed quickly.  Once finished, they will serve as visual tools that can then be used alongside any Bible Study or Sunday School curriculum.

How quickly to complete the charts will depend on the age of the student.   All totaled it will take approximately 2 to 3 hours from start to finish to assemble the
Cut-and-Paste MAP OF THE BIBLE CHART.  It is recommended that this be broken down into 10 or 20 minute segments that can be stretched out over a few weeks.  We want the students to have fun with this!

Simply using these three basic items (Notebook, Cut-and-Paste and Books of the Bible) will give you the Picture!

Bonus Material:

THE INTRO/TEST SHEET
Is a “fill-in-the-blank” version to be used when introducing the MAP through a Presentation.   It can also be used as a test sheet after the student has assembled his own MAP and gone through the lessons

FRAME BOOKLET

In the NOTEBOOK the Frame for our Puzzle is in Section I.   The FRAME BOOKLET is for the student.  It gives a visual introduction to the Frame with a couple picture pieces to be cut out and pasted in place.  There are also some scripture pieces to be cut and pasted on the pages that are indicated.  This booklet presents the Gospel and gives an invitation to come to Christ.

When using all the material in the NOTEBOOK PACKET it is suggested to use it in this order:
    1. INTRO/TEST SHEET during the Presentation introduction
    2. FRAME BOOKLET
    3. NOTEBOOK
    4.
Cut-and-Paste MAP OF THE BIBLE BOOKLET
    5. BOOKS OF THE BIBLE chart
    6. INTRO/TEST SHEET as a final exam.

What is a Presentation?

A Presentation takes the group or individual through the entire chart by assembling it, piece by piece until complete.  This takes them through the Bible from Genesis to the Cross.  The plan of salvation is clearly seen and the call to come to Christ is given.  (This takes approximately one hour)

How to do I do a Presentation?

A full Presentation is done on the Power Point CD.  The teacher can show the video or use one of the other options on the CD.  The Power Point with audio has sharper images and using the mouse, the teacher can advance the slides.   The audio explains each slide.  Using the mouse, the teacher must advance the slides and click for the actions.  Or the Power Point without any audio is also available.

Other options available for a Presentation.

Large Chart Packet:
Follow the instructions in the packet to assemble a large 4 ft by 8 ft. wall chart.  Cut out the colored pieces and laminate them.  Using rolled tape, mounting putty or some other adhesive place these pieces on the areas indicated on the Guide Cards.  The cards are numbered and help to keep the pieces in order for the Presentation.   This is ideal for use in a large classroom.

Small Chart Booklet:

Follow the instructions in this booklet.  Cut out and laminate all the pieces.  In the booklet are Placement Sheets similar to the Guide cards for the Large Chart.
This is ideal for home use.

TO DO A PRESENTATION YOURSELF:
Follow the directions in the LARGE CHART PACKET or the SMALL CHART BOOKLET to have the pieces ready to use.   Assign one person to put up the pieces and another to read from the NOTEBOOK.   Before actually doing a Presentation read through the entire NOTEBOOK so that you are familiar with the whole picture.  Highlight the parts you want to read.  You will notice that there are hints and instructions for a Presentation in the NOTEBOOK.

Now you are ready to go!
